Synopsis
Art Newspaper Daily article on the beginnings of the China boom, when Chinese artists were getting crazy prices in comparison to their counterparts throughout the rest of Asia. Beyond the usual speculative craziness that surrounds all bubbles, there was the added complexity that many Chinese artists in high demand were selling out of their studios, even during shows at galleries, with whom they generally refused any sort of long-term relationship.
